Publishing
What does it cost a business to publish to AI?
Nothing. Publishing your business identity, product catalogue, jobs, events and news is completely free, with no limit on the size of your catalogue or how often you update it. Advertising and promoting published data are optional paid choices and are set up in the Business Portal.
Do I need a developer?
No. You can import a file and save your own column layout for next time, or enter records directly in the portal. The Product Catalogue API is there if you want it, and larger catalogues usually do.
Do I have to restructure my product data first?
No. MasterDB accepts a flat product file with only a few mandatory fields. There is no category tree to adopt and no taxonomy to map to. You publish against your own product identifier and MasterDB adds its own alongside it.
How often should I update?
As often as your data changes. There is no limit and no cost. Prices and availability are the fields that make the difference between a useful answer and a wrong one.
What happens to data I withdraw?
It stops being retrievable. Withdrawing a record removes it from what AI companies can retrieve, immediately.
Control
Can I stop a particular AI company using my data?
Yes. Every AI company connected to MasterDB is listed in your account and any of them can be blocked at any time. Blocking one does not affect anything else you publish.
Can I say how my business should be described?
Yes. Your instructions cover which sources are authoritative for your business, how it should be represented, and the subject areas where your data must not be used at all. They are published alongside your data.
Does MasterDB change my data?
No. It is stored exactly as you submitted it. Nothing is reformatted, corrected, enriched or reinterpreted.
Can MasterDB guarantee how an AI words its answer?
No, and nobody can. What MasterDB does is make sure the facts the answer is built from are yours, current and authorised, and that your terms are published with them.
Getting started
Why does my business need to be verified?
So that data in MasterDB comes from the business it says it comes from. Verification is free, and everything else is open to you while it is under way. It is separate from authorisation: your data is authorised because you published it.
Can my agency manage this for me?
Yes. An ad agency can be invited into your account to run campaigns without you handing over control of it.
Can I add my colleagues?
Yes. Each person gets the access their role needs, and access granted outside your own organisation can be given an expiry date.
